Living From Heaven to Earth

Heaven: Our Glorious Hope (Living from Heaven to Earth)

Introduction:
We have been speaking about the King and His Kingdom over the last few weeks as we looked at the The Return of The King Series. Today I would like to speak about heaven and living from heaven to earth.
Scripture Reading:
Matthew 6: 9
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’

“on earth as it is in heaven”
Jesus prays that the will of the Father would be manifested on earth as it is heaven. We see a collision of two realms in this verse. The heavenly realm collides with the earthly realm. As we look at heaven I want you to see what Jesus meant as he prayed that the realm of heaven becomes a reality on earth.
Throughout Jesus’ ministry he always taught about the kingdom of God. We heard in the series that the kingdom is the domain where the authority of the king is exercised. The bible says that all authority has been given to Jesus both in heaven and on earth. Jesus rules as king over the earth as he rules as king over heaven. (Matt 28v18) Wherever Jesus went he exercised his authority over:
1. Sickness and disease
2. Demonic powers and strongholds
3. Death (resurrection of the dead)
4. Confusion and deceit (by teaching truth and bringing revelation of who we really are and how much God really loves us)

What is heaven like?

1. Heaven is where God lives
Matt 6 “Our Father who art in heaven...”
"Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey." (Deuteronomy 26:15)
God’s presence is fully realised in heaven.
2.Heaven is a place where God is worshipped

Revelation 4
The Throne in Heaven
1 After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” 2 At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. 3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. 4 Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits[a] of God. 6 Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.
In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:
“‘Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty,’[b]
who was, and is, and is to come.”
9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.”

The atmosphere of heaven is an atmosphere of worship.
Matt 6 “Hallowed be thy name”... hallowed is a term for praise. Therefore the bible says that God inhabits (dwells within) the praises of His people. We are to create the atmosphere of heaven through worship.
Paul & Silas created an atmosphere of heaven through worship and the chains broke. When the atmosphere of heaven is created, the Kingdom of Heaven is released and the authority of the King is then exercised in its fullness.

3. Heaven is a place of exceeding Joy.
"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present [you] faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy," (Jude 1:24)

4. Heaven is a place of purity and righteousness
Rev 21:22-27
22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
- No demonic power has any right of entry into heaven.
- Only the righteous can enter. Those who are saved by the blood of the lamb (Jesus Christ)
-
5.There is no death in heaven and no tears or sorrow
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." (Revelation 21:4)
Jesus revealed his authority as king over death by resurrecting the dead during his time on earth.

Jesus said let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. The will of the Father is demonstrated through atmosphere in heaven.
- It is an atmosphere of God’s habitation.
- An atmosphere of worship
- An atmosphere of exceeding joy
- An atmosphere of deliverance and free from the bondage of Sin
- An atmosphere of healing
